Site Preparation and Filming: Five Days on Location
The past five days marked a significant milestone for the project — three days of intensive site preparation followed by two days of filming in challenging winter conditions, with Walsall College students on set throughout.

Site Preparation
The preparation phase focused on transforming the street and its familiar spaces to serve the needs of the project. This included reimagining a barbershop into a grocers — demonstrating how adaptable everyday places can become within a creative process and a great team.
Filming
Filming itself took place over two demanding days, shaped by cold weather and challenging conditions. Throughout, the team remained focused and collaborative, gathering around monitors, making decisions in real time, and holding the vision steady despite the elements.
We were also proud to have students from Walsall College on set, gaining hands-on experience in film production and observing how a professional shoot operates from the ground up.
What’s Next
While filming is now complete, the work is far from over. The project now moves into its next stages, culminating in an exhibition that will bring the research and creative development into a public-facing context.
Further updates will follow as the project continues to unfold.
